This free 10-question quiz gives you a quick read on where your child's chess stands today. The questions cover the essentials every young player needs: how the pieces move, basic tactics like forks and pins, simple checkmate recognition, and key rules such as castling and en passant. Answer all ten and you will get an instant level band — Getting Started (0–3), Club Ready (4–7), or Tournament Ready (8–10) — along with the correct answer to every question. An important note on honesty: this is a rough estimate for orientation only, not a real chess rating and not a substitute for a coach's assessment. A ten-question quiz cannot measure what a coach sees in a real game. Treat the band as a starting point for the conversation, then get a proper personal level review on WhatsApp — your score is filled into the message automatically.

What the bands mean
Getting Started (0–3) means the foundations are still being built. That is completely normal — every chess player starts here. The right next step is learning the piece moves properly, then basic checkmates, then simple tactics, which is exactly the sequence our beginner classes follow. Club Ready (4–7) means the rules are understood and real games are playable. At this stage, structured coaching plus daily tactics usually produces the fastest visible improvement. Tournament Ready (8–10) means strong fundamentals; the player is ready for deeper training — opening ideas, endgame technique, and tournament preparation with a coach. In every case, the band is a rough estimate, not a real rating. The free puzzle trainer is good daily practice at any level, and the parent FAQ answers the practical questions about classes.
