Superior Chess Academy offers live online chess classes for students across India — in cities, towns, and anywhere with an internet connection. There is no commute, no fixed centre to reach, and no waiting for a local batch to fill: students join a real class from home, taught live by a coach, with classmates from different parts of the country.
Online learning suits chess particularly well. The board is shared on screen, every move is visible to everyone, puzzles are solved together in real time, and the coach can watch each student's thinking as it happens. What matters is the quality of the teaching — and that is exactly what the academy focuses on.
What students learn
Coaching follows a structured pathway rather than random games. Depending on the student's level, classes cover:
- Foundations: how every piece moves, check and checkmate, special rules, and the basic principles that guide the opening.
- Tactics: forks, pins, skewers, double attacks, discovered attacks, and combinations — the tools that win games.
- Strategy: piece activity, pawn structures, planning, and understanding what a position demands.
- Endgames: king and pawn endings, rook endings, and the essential techniques every player needs.
- Competitive skills: calculation, time management, tournament preparation, and learning from one's own games.
Beginners start with the foundations; experienced players join at the level that matches their current strength, assessed honestly in the trial class.
Who these classes are for
The academy teaches children, teenagers and adults aged 5 and above. Young beginners (ages 5–7) learn through interactive lessons with plenty of play. School-age students build real competitive strength step by step. Adults — whether returning to the game or starting fresh — get a structured path without the guesswork of self-study. Parents are welcome to observe trial classes and follow their child's progress.
How the classes work
Every class at Superior Chess Academy is live and coach-led — a real coach teaching in real time, not a recorded video. Students see the coach, the coach sees the students' boards, and questions get answered on the spot. Classes run in three formats:
- Group classes (maximum 8–10 students): learn alongside peers at a similar level. Friendly rivalry, shared puzzle-solving, and learning from other students' questions.
- Semi-private classes (maximum 3–4 students): a smaller group with much more individual attention from the coach — a good middle ground between group energy and personal guidance.
- 1:1 private coaching: the coach's full attention, a plan built around the student's level and goals, and a pace set entirely by the student.
A typical lesson mixes short teaching segments with guided practice games and puzzle-solving, so students are actively playing and thinking throughout — never just listening. Between lessons, students get practice material matched to what was covered in class.
Why families across India choose live online coaching
Geography stops being a constraint: a student in a small town gets the same coach and the same curriculum as a student in a metro city. Class times are organised in Indian Standard Time, and batches are grouped by age and level so every student learns with peers at a similar stage. Between classes, students practise with material matched to their lessons, and the coach tracks progress over time.
Start with a free trial class
The best way to understand how the coaching works is to experience it. A free trial class lets the student meet the coach, join a real lesson, and see the teaching style first-hand — with no obligation. After the trial, the coach shares honest feedback on the student's level and which format would suit them best.

Frequently asked questions
Are the classes live or recorded?
Every class is live and coach-led. A real coach teaches in real time, watches the students' boards, answers questions on the spot, and adjusts the lesson to the class. There are no pre-recorded videos standing in for teaching.
What age can a child start?
The academy teaches students aged 5 and above. Most children are ready for structured classes around age 5; the free trial class is the best way to check readiness for a young child.
What do we need at home for online classes?
A computer, laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone, and a reasonably stable internet connection. No special software or chess equipment is needed — the board and all materials are provided on screen.
