Superior Chess Academy teaches students in Canada through live online chess classes — the same structured coaching, the same FIDE-rated coaches, and the same curriculum as every other student, delivered at times that work in your time zone.
Because all classes are online, distance is not a barrier: there is no commute and no local centre to reach. Students join a real class from home, with a coach teaching live and classmates joining from different countries.
Class times that work in Canada
India is 9.5 to 12.5 hours ahead of Canada. Evening IST classes are morning classes in Toronto and Montreal (7:00 PM IST is about 8:30 AM Eastern), while late-evening IST slots work as morning or midday classes further west in Vancouver. Weekend batches are popular with Canadian families.
The academy runs early-morning and late-night IST slots specifically for international students, so families outside India get class times that fit normal waking hours — not the middle of the night. When you enquire on WhatsApp, tell us your city and we will suggest suitable slots.
What students learn
Coaching follows a structured pathway matched to the student's level:
- Beginners: piece movement, check and checkmate, basic tactics, and good thinking habits.
- Intermediate players: tactics training, calculation, positional strategy, openings with understanding, and endgame technique.
- Advanced competitors: deep calculation, opening preparation, tournament skills, and serious game analysis.
Children start from age 5; teenagers and adults are equally welcome.
How the classes work
Every class is live and coach-led — a real coach teaching in real time. Three formats are available: group classes (maximum 8–10 students), semi-private classes (maximum 3–4 students), and 1:1 private coaching with a fully personal plan. Lessons mix teaching, guided practice games and puzzle-solving, with practice material between lessons.
Language and communication
All classes are taught in English. Parents receive honest feedback on their child's level and progress, and can observe the trial class.
Start with a free trial class
The best way to understand how the coaching works is to experience it. A free trial class lets the student meet the coach, join a real lesson, and see the teaching style first-hand — with no obligation. After the trial, the coach shares honest feedback on the student's level and which format would suit them best.

Frequently asked questions
What time will classes be in Canada?
Class times are organised around your time zone, including early-morning and late-night IST slots for international students. Tell us your city on WhatsApp (+91 84015 33777) and we will suggest suitable timings.
Are the classes really live, given the distance?
Yes — every class is taught live by a coach in real time. Online chess works the same across the world: the board is shared on screen and the coach watches each student's play as it happens.
What does my child need to join from Canada?
A computer, laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone, and a stable internet connection. All boards, puzzles and materials are provided on screen — no special equipment needed.
How do we pay from abroad, and how much does it cost?
Fee and payment details for international students are shared on WhatsApp when you enquire — message +91 84015 33777 and mention your country. The first class is always a free trial.
