Superior Chess Academy is a live online chess coaching academy based in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, teaching students across India and around the world. The academy exists for one reason: to teach chess properly — with real coaches, a real curriculum, and honest feedback — to anyone who wants to learn, wherever they are.
What we do
We teach children, teenagers and adults aged 5 and above in live, coach-led online classes. Coaching follows a structured pathway from first moves to competitive play: foundations, tactics, strategy, endgames, and tournament skills — taught in order, with nothing skipped. Every class is live; there are no recorded videos standing in for teaching.
How we teach
- Live classes, always: a real coach in every session, watching students' boards and answering questions in real time.
- Three formats: group classes (maximum 8–10 students), semi-private classes (maximum 3–4), and 1:1 private coaching.
- FIDE-rated coaches: every coach is a FIDE-rated player with international rating — they know the game deeply and teach it full-time.
- Structured curriculum: a planned path from beginner to competitive level, with progress tracked over time.
- Honest feedback: coaches tell parents and students plainly where they stand and what to work on — including when waiting is the right answer.
Who we teach
Young beginners taking their first steps, school-age players building competitive strength, adults learning from scratch or returning to the game, and tournament players preparing for rated events. Students join from across India and from other countries — class times are organised to suit different time zones, including early-morning and late-night IST slots for international students.
Why live online works for chess
Chess is one of the subjects best suited to online teaching. The board is shared on screen, every move is visible, puzzles are solved together in real time, and the coach can watch each student's thinking as it happens. Students get the same quality of coaching whether they live next door to the academy or on another continent — with no commute and no compromise on the teaching itself.
Start with a free trial
Every new student begins with a free trial class: a real lesson with a real coach, after which the coach shares honest feedback on the student's level and the right format to continue. There is no obligation and no hard sell.

Start with a free trial class
The best way to understand how the coaching works is to experience it. A free trial class lets the student meet the coach, join a real lesson, and see the teaching style first-hand — with no obligation. After the trial, the coach shares honest feedback on the student's level and which format would suit them best.
